Dr. Leah Johnson Physical Therapist, Yoga Teacher & Founder Dr. Johnson has envisioned Second Arrow since her time living in Costa Rica in her early 20s (so many years ago!). She started as a Religion & Philosophy major in undergraduate in Iowa to living in Montezuma, Costa Rica teaching yoga! Leah was gifted with a yoga teacher training at Anamaya Resort because she only vaguely understood what yoga was at the time. Leah's life dramatically changed with the gift of yoga. She started teaching her own classes and assisting with yoga classes taught by teachers from all over the world on a weekly basis for 3 years. Leah thirsted to know why yoga made such an effect on a person and decided to pursue the hard science of a Doctor of Physical Therapy. She initiated this journey while living in Portland, OR. Then, she attained her degree at VCU. Leah has now been a yoga teacher for 15 years and holds her Doctor of Physical Therapy, as well. She is an expert in differential diagnosis and medical screening (Board Certified Clinical Orthopedic Specialist). She has worked with debilitated populations in inpatient settings to sports and many different injury types in outpatient settings. Leah has extensive experience with patients that are post op, neurological deficits, amputees, and complex cases with multiple joint involvement with multiple co morbidities. Leah is passionate about her work assisting patient's heal their own injuries and preventing injuries in the future. She is full of gratitude to be able to found The Second Arrow and bring Yoga and maybe some philosophy into the healing world of Physical Therapy. Physical Therapy breaks healing into bite size pieces for every body, every age and Yoga makes it flow, brings acceptance and joy in connection. When Leah is not spending time with her family and her dog, she is playing board games with friends, reading novels that are way too long, running, swimming, hiking, biking and basking in the sunlight. She dearly hopes that you find rest, joy and growth in the community and healing space of Second Arrow. Pictured here is Dr. Johnson with Jessie Moonstone of Moonstone Interiors, Leah's best friend and master interior designer of Second Arrow's flow of colors and light from the ceilings to the walls to the floors. The building of Second Arrow has been the work of love and friendship.
